NEW POETRY NIGHT!
Host & MC: Azeb M. Freitas (she/her). Azeb is an artist with many talents. She is a community organizer working across dance, poetry, and music. Her creative practice centers the Black experience and storytelling while embracing the shared humanity that connects diverse communities. She cultivates spaces for collective reflection, healing, joy, and expression—inviting people of all backgrounds to gather, create, and imagine new possibilities together. Azeb will be hosing several poets at our first ZaGaya Poetry Night. Be sure to join us for this very special evening.
Each performance will last 30 minutes, starting at 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM.

Performer: Stefan Weiner. Stefan is an NYC-based queer indie folk singer-songwriter. He mixes the immediacy of classic songwriting with the intimacy of a quiet conversation with a friend. He was named a Top Shelf finalist in NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest 2024. How Lucky You Are, Stefan’s first full-length album, will be out in May on Better Company Records with singles rolling out through the winter and spring.

Performer: Emma Claye. Emma is a New York City-based actress, singer, and songwriter with a background in theater, television, and film. She holds degrees from the University of Maryland and Yale, and has trained at The New York Film Academy, Stella Adler Studio, and Oxford University. As a performer and songwriter, she has released original music, appeared in productions including Hamilton, and is currently working on her next EP.

Performer: Gem Ryder. Gem is NYC based singer/songwriter from San Francisco. A storyteller first, her Folk and Americana roots accompany lyrics about the trials and tribulations of young love and loss. Gem’s debut album “Unraveling” will be released in August 2025.

Performer: Simon Thomas George. A Windsor Terrace based local multi-instrumentalist and vocalist known for his fluid work in jazz, funk, soul and improvisation. He is a committed collaborator in his filed playing with other local artists in Brooklyn and ZaGaya’s.
